Baby!Rocket was so adorable, I’d have fist fought the High Evolutionary over him. I spent so much of the movie crying over that Raccoon… the flashbacks, the nearly dying, I’m done running, saving the animals at the end… good thing no one actually died, that would have been too much emotion for one movie.
Really puts a new perspective on Rocket’s “everyone’s got dead people” speech in the first movie. I mean, it was obvious there was something personal about it, but… yeah.
Cosmo is supercute.
I like that the priestess still has the crazy hair. I just like that look.
Peter acknowledging his screw up with Thanos, and still bringing the ruthlessness to protect his friend <3 Especially using the ground to kill the archivist. Fuuuck, that was good.
Nebula telling past!Gamora that they are saving the badger, and crying when she realizes Rocket lived just made me want more with them together. And even without Rocket, she’s come so far… Really hope we get to see some of her running Knowhere in the future.
Also loved her and Mantis calling out the many issues, library really, the Guardians have, and then they all showed why they’re so good together anyway.
I thought they did a great job of showing past!Gamora as her own person and how the others are struggling with it/accepting it, while also showing that at one point she was the person who could have become Gamora.
The chilling reply to Peter pointing out CounterEarth wasn’t perfect. Bastard had so clearly decided to kill everyone even before Peter showed up.
There is no god, says the High Evolutionary, before a dead god show up to ruin him.
The dead god also sort of stole his stuff, which is absolutely hilarious. Knowhere is totally a Guardian of the Galaxy.
Finally. It’s been longer than intended for me to watch this movie, I should’ve been writing this last week but I had the completely baffling scenario where the cinema people came in and say they ‘didn’t have the feature’. But finally I went and watched it so here are my quick thoughts on the matter.
